Gilcrease Museum Update
We can finally see the top of the new building from Gilcrease Museum Road. It’s topped out now and is a little taller than the old building. Melissa, a marketing specialist, working there in Mr. Gilcrease’s little house, answered the telephone and said construction is on target time-wise (2024 maybe). Their reconstruction budget had a problem due to inflation and delivery of scarce materials, but that is getting solved. A vote for the Tulsa new bond (vote is this August 8) will conclude part of the budget anddonations are being raised as we speak. The Museum Store is open over at Mother Road Market, and Museum Camp for youth will happen in July in the Arts District, the former AHHA building. Register at their website for that camp. All this and more about the Museum on their Facebook page and website. And don’t forget to check out our print of Cosehando Maíz watercolor Gathering Corn in our clubhouse lobby. Click here for more about the painting. And click here for a news story about the construction.
