Crisis
You might have heard about some of the goings-on at the board lately—namely, that the president, vice-president, and manager resigned at the July meeting. The leadership crisis we’re in might be just what we needed to see that we have got to pull together. Gilcrease Hills community feels like it’s ready for a revival—but don’t confuse a revival with a return to that mythological “golden age” of Gilcrease Hills. No, the crisis tells us that we are ready for a transformation…instead of nostalgia for the old version, we need a new version of Gilcrease Hills. We’re already on that path anyway. But we have to pull together to push forward. Let your board rep know what you want to see. Click here to see your rep and here to send an email.
Meanwhile, the board did manage to approve the July budget (deficit of $1,313), discuss the new speed bumps going in on Independence Avenue next to the Oakwood pool, authorize 200 more overdue-dues letter to be sent out, and heard reports from the Architectural Review committee and the Landscape & Sustainability committee.
Next board meeting: September 14, 2023 at 6pm at the clubhouse.
